Hello-- first time poster!

I'm expecting my first baby in August, and am getting pressure from the family to choose a stroller for my registry. I would like to get something usable from birth (or so) as I would prefer to limit the car seat time, although a Maclaren Easy Traveler isn't out of the question. If someone wants to buy me a stroller... well...

I've decided that a lightweight easy folding stroller with a full recline would be ideal. Smaller fold preferable. Able to handle rotten Chicago sidewalks and the occasional poorly shoveled walk. With these things in mind I think I've narrowed it down to these two.

Any thoughts between the two? Other recs? What accessories would you recommend for the BJCM? What do I need to know about using either of these for an infant? Should I be concerned about the lack of an adjustable footrest? Seating position?

Thanks for your help. I'm sure I'll have lots of other questions.

Hi Natalie- I live in Chicago too, and have found my Baby Jogger City Series (Classic) to be fantastic for taking walks around the neighborhood and navigating the occasional unshoveled sidewalk. The 12" air filled tires are great for that kind of thing- walks through town, to the park, beach, etc. That being said, I also just bought the Mini as my "out and about" stroller. I was just obsessed with it! I just got it, and haven't used it yet, but played around with it a bunch of times at the store and think it'll be great for most on-the-go type outings (mall, zoo, some light walks around town). I intend to use the Classic as my home-based stroller and keep the Mini in the car. I also bought the snack tray attachment for the Mini, and may buy the parent console as well. Also- both the Classic and the Mini have great reclines and sunshades- the little ones will be quite comfy in both of them!

It's so hard to find just one stroller for everything!! Good luck :)
