Bug spray allergy???

I put bug spray with DEET on my DD1's legs this morning (yes this is Florida, we need bug spray at noon if we will be outside.) Later this afternoon she got hives, mostly on her legs. She hasn't eaten anything new (and I'd have a heart attack if she actually did). That's the only thing I can think of that we did differently. I haven't used bug spray in a long while and I rarely do if at all.

Anyone else's DC have a reaction to DEET? I know I should have washed it off but she was playing in the baby pool later so I would think that would have done it. Our water makes my DH itchy, I wonder if it was a combo?
