Can you recommend a good printer?

Our printer died, and I have no idea how to pick a new one. I just want a basic printer, it would be nice if it printed in color, but not absolutely necessary. I don't need it to do photos, or copy, or scan, or fax, or anything like that. I'd prefer if the ink wasn't ridiculously expensive. Any suggestions?

We have an HP photo smart printer and it is great! We had nothing but problems with our Epson printer... will never buy an Epson again! I've heard ok things about Canon but my mom hated hers. When she got a new one she went with HP and has been happy. My sister uses an HP too!

Yeah, the one that died is an Epson that I, um, despise. I'll look at HP, thanks!
