Would appreciate your recs for HE detergent for CD and any additional advice regarding washing CD. I am starting with prefolds and PUL covers. Will likely change after first few months to AIO. Thanks!

Here's a helpful chart to browse... http://www.diaperjungle.com/he-detergent-chart.html

Personally I like Charlie's Soap (it's HE detergent...Soap is just the name of it, lol)(And they mention there's a controversy with disinfecting, I think Charlies are the only people who actually care to test the outcomes, I don't think other normal detergents disinfect, either, but the results are perfectly clean and good :) )

But there are lots of great choices there, I don't think any of them would be bad if they are listed as good!

We use prefolds and PUL covers (with hemp doublers and wool soakers for overnight). I use Tide HE and have not had any problems with it. I do use Calgon water softener with the detergent (due to some stink issues I was having with my covers and have not had since starting using Calgon). I also use some vinegar in the fabric softener dispenser just to keep static down.

pinstripesandpolkadots.com also has a great chart of diaper detergents under their cloth diapering basics section.

I use Planet liquid and have no issues.
