Hey all -

I am going to CD for certain, already mostly set up. But dd will have disposables in hospital (I will be in the ICU and she will be in baby ward, we will not be rooming in together unfortunately).

I am super paranoid about the cord stump and figured I could go the disposable route until that falls off as CDS's have to be folded down and adjusted etc and my mother and dh are still wrapping their brains around CD in general and I will be recovering still so I know they will both be hands on.

I would prefer to go for a disposable brand that are green and/or baby friendly - less chemicals etc.

Recommendations?????????

Nature Baby Care versus Seventh Generation?

If the baby won't be with you after delivery, while in the hospital they will diaper her in whatever brand the hospital uses...no choice there really.

I don't have any comments on those brands for home use though. I'm sure someone else will chime in!

You don't have to have your baby in the hospital diapers. My son never left my side when I was in the hospital and we put on all diapers except for the very first one.

I use cloth diapers and there are some that are lower for the umbilical cord stump - like Kissaluvs. I've used the Seventh Generation and liked those. I have also heard great things about Nature's Babycare - I know diapers.com has reviews on both.

I use 7th Gen's and I like them a lot. I don't smell any fragrance at all and they are unbleached, which I like. I never see the absorbent part of the diaper come through onto DD which is a problem that many have on occasion with regular disposables.
