I have poked around on a couple of Foogo/ Funtainer threads and I have seen posts of people mentioning that the FOOGO tops are only 2 pieces.

I wanted to post because they do actually come apart into THREE pieces, and it's important to take them apart because moisture does get between the top two pieces (read: grow bacteria). Recently when I was ordering replacement straws form Thermos I asked if the Foogo was ever only 2, and the answer is no. They said they actually get calls saying there top section had broken and come apart, when in fact they just didn't realize it comes apart. My friend in playgroup didn't realize they came apart either... But the top section is made of a silcone pieces (the straw) and a hard inner plastic piece.

So just in case you didn't realize they came apart, now you know! :)

The Foogo in pieces is on the right.

Thank you! I didn't realize! All I knew was that the angled part of the straw does not come off like the old Funtainers. I just went to check ours and luckily everything looks good in between there!

yup! i take them apart every time and i hate it. it is such a pain to have to clean so many parts and then put it back together. but otherwise i love them!

I'm not sure why this is, but the Foogos straw containers (the ones that come in blue and pink) do have the 3piece sippy straws. But the Thermos Funtainers (or whatever they are called), the ones that look exactly like the Foogos straw containers but have the licensed artwork on them (my sons have them in Dark Knight and Speed Racer), their straw assemblies are only 2 pieces. It doesn't make sense to me why Thermos would do 2 different straw assemblies when they are pretty much the same sippy straw container as far as I can tell. I really like the 2 piece assembly the best. So much quicker.

THANK YOU! There is another thread about the Foogos have only 2 parts which is why I kept saying mine has 3. I knew I didn't have some odd crazy Foogo. LOL

Thank you for posting this - it's odd that Thermos doesn't put this on the cleaning instructions sheet.
