I knew only you moms with picky eaters could appreciate my excitement! My DD is the pickiest eater. Her diet basically consist of cheese, yogurt, chicken nuggets, any kind of fruit, and bread. Thats literally all she eats. It's so hard trying to find things for her to eat because she does get tired of the same things over and over but she never tries new foods. Tonight she asked me if she could have eggs for dinner. I cooked them thinking what a waste it was because she wouldn't eat them. She just brought me her empty bowl and told me how good they were!

That must have been so exciting! I totally hear you about picky eaters. My DS was like that and now he's eating more variety. My DS just tried sushi this summer and liked it. Never thought he would like sushi.

My son once went 5 days on one wheat thin (and milk mixed with cream). He goes on hunger strikes every so often and it makes us crazy. He's only 2...when did he get so opinionated???

That is so exciting! However, if your DD is anything like mine, don't expect it to happen again anytime soon. I remember being so excited when DD sat down in my lap and ate my entire bowl of salad (with romaine lettuce, no less). That was well over a year ago - now salad is "yucky".
I look at it this way...if they will eat it now, even once, there is a good probability that they will eat it regularly when they are older. If DD eats something once in a while, but refuses it other times, I have hope for the future. I don't think eggs are in her future - lol! I put some on her plate the other night and she said she didn't want them. I told her to just eat what she wanted from her plate and leave what she didn't like. She wanted those eggs OFF her plate! There are many things she just won't eat, but that's the only thing she insists not even having in her sight - lol!
BTW, there is hope. My stepdaughters were about the pickiest eaters I'd ever encountered. The only "healthy" food we could get them to eat was chicken, corn, fruit and cucumbers. Now, as teenagers, I'm still amazed when I see them eat salad and veggies. Once we went to a steakhouse and my oldest actually ordered grilled chicken that came with 2 sides. She got broccoli and...broccoli! This past weekend, the youngest ate a bowl of homemade vegetable soup - I just kept staring at her :ROTFLMAO:

That's great! I can totally understand where you are coming from. My DDs are like that. DD #1 has always been picky right from the start. DD #2 started at 2 1/2. She just woke up one morning being super picky. Sigh!
I am so excited when they both eat well for a meal. Sad isn't it? My mom doesn't remember me being so picky so where did they get that from?

Yay!!! I totally get your excitement. My ds (almost 2) is such a picky eater. He eats crackers, milk, chicken dinos (not nuggets or strips, just dinos) yogurt, and fruit. And not all fruit. only pineapple, apples, canteloupe and grapes.
It's not that he doesn't like anything else, he won't even try it. He has never had cheese, any kind of meat other than dinos, pasta, rice, veggies, etc. He just tosses it off his plate at the mere sight of it. Sigh. And dd (almost 4) eats just about anything. What happened?!
