Our youngest is just turning 5 months. He asked me with a completely straight face if she could be turned forward facing. I was simply floored. I couldn't believe he asked. Luckily in this case I've got the law on my side so I said "No, it isn't even legal to turn her." I explained the law and then explained the whole extended rear facing concept. What kills me is that I showed him the crash videos and we discussed the reasons several times while our oldest was rear facing. Was my voice on mute the whole time? Why do I even bother talking to him?

MEN!! They only hear what the want. I think they tune out. My husband knows I know more about car seats than he does so he goes along with what I'm doing. So far he has not asked when ds 13 months will start FF. He is aware rf is safer. At least I think so. I did tell him. But who knows if he was listening.

I think my DH thinks I am super paranoid. (Ok, well, I am) He has finally stopped asking when the girls will turn around (they are 23 months). I guess I need to hunt up some of those videos and show him...

Are you married to my DH???? Seriously, he's the same way.

He says he has hearing loss, but only at the frequency of my voice.

We have 3 kids, and after 7 years of kids, he still doesn't know how to buckle the kids in their seats correctly... been saying for years to him 'THE CHEST CLIP GOES AT ARMPIT LEVEL'... unreal. ;-)

At least he asked. My DH just DOES things. I noticed DS's carrier straps were at the top notch and inquired. "Oh, yea, I switched those about 6 weeks ago." (Okay, shame on me for not noticing, but I guess I thought we would either discuss this OR he'd look it up before making such an executive decision.)
"At or below, At or below," I chanted and kindly insisted he fix them!

Well, fortunately he can't "do" because he doesn't know how. Instead he just whines. I just tell him that it is my car and therefor my decision.

My DH wouldn't have a clue how to change the harness straps...in fact if something ever happens to me my best friend has promised to fly out and make sure the carseat situation (and clothign too)...is taken care of for me!
