Anyone have the UppaBaby full sized stroller from 2008? They are still selling them on Amazon for about $550, but the new 09's are $100 more!
Can someone give a review of the '08s?
Thanks!

I have the 2009, but I can tell you what the differences are between the 2 models, since I tried them both:
- The 2008 is 26.5" wide, the 2009 is 24.5", because the 2008 has wider wheels. however you can purchase the slimmer ones (urban wheels) as an accesory if you find it's too wide.
- The fabrics are a bit nicer on the 2009.
- The rain cover zips unto the canopy on the 2009. The 2008's goes over the enitre canopy
- The 2009 bassinet is lined with organic fabrics.
- The 2009 canopy has a pullout sunshade / canopy extension with SPF 50.
- The 2009 takes the optional rumble seat to turn it into a double, the 2008 as of now doesn't, but I heard they're working on an adaptor.
I think that's it. I loooove my Vista, I highly recommend it!
I debated the same thing and went with the 2009. Here's why:
1. Increased weight limit (was 40lbs, now is 50lbs)
2. It just looks nicer (they say upgraded fabric)
3. The zip-on feature of the rain and sun covers
4. Why pay for an adapter for the rumble seat once we need it- pay a little extra now and save $40 (or more) later.
I thought they made it with the narrower wheels for 2008 and the 2007 was the one that was wider with the different wheels. That was my understanding before the 2009's even came out.
Now, about the price difference:
The last time I looked on Amazon, the 2008 was only $499- what a great deal compared to $669... But, then someone here told me about using Microsoft Live Search that gives you 25% off through ebay when you use PayPal. Now, you want to make sure if you are buying through ebay that you get it through an authorized UPPA Baby dealer- no problem, because Baby On The Run in Massachusetts (www.babyontherun.com) has them for sale on ebay. So, with 25% off, that brings the total to $500! The same or less than the 2008! Just use www.live.com to search for it. I'll find the message where someone explained the whole thing to me and post it on this thread for you.
Here's what cndnveggie told me about Microsoft Live Search Cashback:
There are two things to cover. First of all, live.com has a cashback feature that allows you to get cashback from many online vendors. For example, you can get 10% cashback from purchases at the Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic. You can also get 10% cashback at Barnes and Nobel, and 20% cashback at Footlocker. The % depends on the store - it varies quite a bit, and may change (I think Gap was 15% last week). When you use the live.com search feature to find an item and go to the stores website from live.com, you get the cashback. You have to have signed up for a live.com cashback account (it's free), and you get the cashback in around 60 days in your PayPal account, I think. For more info, go to this link or the FAQ. Here's a list of stores and their % of cashback.
The ebay thing is a bit different - I think it's only temporary, and it has ranged from 35% and lower - it's been at 25% for the last week at least... Anyways, when you use live.com to search for something and see an ebay link with the cashback info (which you saw alreayd), you can follow the link to ebay and you'll get 25% cashback on any ebay purchase. It has to be Buy It Now, though (you can't bid auction-style), and you have to use PayPal to pay for it. Here's more info about the ebay-cashback deal. And here's a discussion on a messageboard - it's huge, but you can see that it's worked for many, many people.
Anyways, it's kind of hard to describe, so I would read more about it. I've purchased 3 things (including the stroller), and should be getting about $250 back! It's currently in the 60 days pending...
Also, just to note, once you've followed the live.com cashback link (either to ebay or any other store that has the cashback feature), you can purchase any item and get cashback - it doesn't have to be the item you searched for. For example, to get the ebay cashback link, I always just searched for Ugg Boots, and then once I followed the cashback link to ebay, I found what I actually wanted to buy.
Anyways, hope that explains it a bit. Let me know if you have more questions
I realized that the links didn't show up- here's the website where you can learn more: http://search.live.com/cashback

I think they changed the wheels in the middle of the year so the eralier 2008's have the wider ones. I think it's bets to check with UPPAbaby directly

Thanks for the reply!
.... I wonder if it would work if I use the hotspot shield to hide my ISP. But I guess somehow they would figure me out....big brother and all....
I have and LOVE the 2008 (mine came with the slimmer wheels, I think that the switch was mid-year 2007). You'll be very happy with it if you decide to go for the discount.

The 2008 frame won't take the upcoming rumble seat, if that is a concern for you.
I emailed Uppa Baby and they said they are coming up with an adapter that will make the rumble seat work with the 2008...

I have the Uppa Vista 2008 and I love it! Granted when I got mine it was the current one, but from someone who didn't have the option... the thing that I wish I had was the new rain shield. Either way you can't go wrong. This was the smartest purchase we made.
