Have you searched around in itunes for the things you guys are interested in?

I have the same, plus something called Planet Money that I subscribed to when the hosts came on This American Life to talk about the credit crunch. It's daily though and I don't keep up with it.

I am on week 3 of the Couch to 5k program (gets you from couch to running 5k in 9 weeks). There are a few free podcasts at iTunes, and also on the web (techno, christian rock, hip hop, other). These are the only ones I am listening to right now, but am eager to try some of the ones you all mentioned!

OT - but, I'm interested in this. I suppose I could just google this, but is there a website you are using? a book?

Definitely! We love some of the video casts. I think the Sesame Street ones are hysterical. I guess they bring back lots of memories from childhood, lol. My dd loves the Irish and Celtic podcast. Ds is having a harder time finding ones he enjoys, I need to check out the Disney ones. The couple I had tried awhile back for him were all advertisements. DH loves the old comedy and suspense radio programs.

Okay how is the Couch to 5K? In the shape I am in, I am almost afraid to try something like that. But just today I was thinking about the fact that I bet there are some cool exercise podcasts.

Stash and Burn (knitting)

I never even thought about looking for podcasts about crafts. Do they talk about different projects, talk you through a project?

MamaKath and LBW, C25k is just so *wonderful*. And everything about it is free, of course. You can be 100 lbs overweight and still do it! The good thing is that it gives you motivation, the podcast tells you when to start jogging/walk recovery. You can only do it a few days a week (to keep injuries at bay), and you can repeat weeks (I did) and it is just fine. It just gives you such a sense of accomplishment. And in just a few weeks I can feel my muscles, woohoo! And even though I am a touch sore (but they minimize that with the cool down) it still feels so good. And in just a few short weeks I have so much more energy... at night when my girls go to bed sometimes I don't feel like flopping down in exhaustion - 2 days ago I acually *desired* to go clean - eek, that was unheard of before.

Yes you can google "C25k", but I have an even better approach, maybe. Join SparkPeople.com (free, completely). Once acclimatized go to the SparkTeams and search for "C25k" teams to join. There you will find much more than just information, but friends in the same boat and tons of cheerful motivation. SparkPeople can be a life-changing place. I am "SmithBarbie" there, please let me know if you join, we can be motivation buddies :)

Oh, and if you are the type like me that will dive headlong into something until the newness wears off (ugh), know that SparkPeople will be there for you, and so will C25k. There is no judging, just the knowledge that every tiny step you do for your health is a wonderful thing... you can start again anytime and it is a GOOD thing!

Can you tell I love SparkPeople? I am not the only one :)

Warmest regards,
Barbie

Okay, you have me completely convinced to check out Spark People. I need some serious motivations. And the part about cleaning, my dh wouldn't know what to do, lol. I'll tell you, it is unreal the exhaustion I feel after teaching these days. :( I HAVE to do something! I am off to check it out...

Oh sorry about the referral thing, I didn't know it did that... please know I don't get anything for it! The site is utterly and completely free!

I am off to start a new SparkPeople thread, so I don't hijack this one more...
