I am finally able to shop for one of these for my 6 yo niece. YEAH! I am so excited. I remember a while back ago there were lots of discussions on online stores that make fun whimsical tutus? I checked out the tutus even though I only have boys and was sad that I had nobody to buy these for. LOL. Could anybody share with me any latest suggestions? Thanks much!

I know people used to love the site prissy poofs http://prissypoofs.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=PP&Category_Code=Prissy . There are a lot of people who make them on ebay! They are not all that difficult to make... my neighbor has made a ton for her daughters... she uses a nice satin ribbon instead of elastic and it looks pretty and makes it easily adjustable! Here is a previous post with directions on how to make them

I know www.pincinella.com (http://www.pincinella.com) sells them, and they are really cute! I always look at them longingly, but alas, I have a boy, too, and don't have anyone else to buy one for.

i'm not sure what kind you're looking for.. but i've seen a lot even at babygap, gymboree, and target.

i'm sure there are some really cute ones on etsy too!

It's been a while since I tested it, but this code might work for Prissy Poofs. We have one tutu from there and have been happy with it.

I will definitely check out the Prissy Poofs (sp?)

As for the thread for making it on your own. It is indeed very interesting, and I am going to send it to MIL ... Unfortunately, I am all thumbs. I am ashamed to say that I have been known to mail a piece of cloth to my MIL for her to sew ONE single line so DS1 could put a dowel through it... Yup. I am that lame...

But YEAH for shopping for a very pink tutu! :)

If you are at all crafty I'd suggest making one. I made DD's and the only sewing was the elastic that goes around her waist. Basically you cut the tulle and tie a square knot.

The Prissy Poofs are lovely with all the trimmings, though. :heartbeat:

I made really simple ones for the girls' first birthday and it didn't require any sewing at all. You just looped the strips of tulle around a ribbon and the ribbon ties around her waist. I like it because you can add more in years to come.
