Does anyone know of any contemporary looking baby swings? We want something that would fit in like how our bloom fresco loft highchair does

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I don't know of any, but baby swings have a short span of use. We used ours for 6 months. You can get travel swings that are smaller and easier to hide or put away.
I don't know if this is a good swing, DS is 4 yo, but it looks small, and it seems it can be folded up when not needed.

ETA. Some babies HATE swings, others love them, so you might use a swing a lot or never turn it on.

I agree: short lifespan on these. But check out the Fisher-Price Zen line if you just have to have a non-kid look: http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2000&e=zen-landing

The FP Zen Collection swing is the only thing that I think comes close to what you are looking for

Thanks! As for the high chair I got, I absolutely love it. It looks so cool. Hopefully it will be worth the investment. As for the swing, I registered for the fisherprice aquarium swing, and someone bought it for me, but then I realized that it only works with batteries! Research shows that it's a battery eater, plus it does not go well in my apartment at all, so I'm returning it and now I'll probably go with the zen swing. Thanks for your help!

Isn't there a FP Cradle swing similar to the Papasan that plugs in? We've loved the Papasan and it didn't use too many batteries - unless, of course you over use the swing...
I've felt like it blends in nicely b/c of the lack of color.

We had this one. It wasn't too bad on batteries, I've had other things that were worse like DS"s remote control cars. I thas a big footprint though and eats up a lot of space. A smaller swing is what I'll call for if we ever need one again.

We had and loved the FP Starlight Papasan...swings side-to-side or front-to-back. PLUGS IN or batteries. NEUTRAL colors. You can leave the netting off if you like and forego the light show. It's not contemporary, but it is neutral

I just saw this blog article and remembered this post.

You should check out ohdeedoh.com. It's the baby portion of Apartment Therapy and the whole focus on is design.
My advice on the swing? Just get whichever FP Papsan that is least offensive to you. I had the Baby Bjorn bouncer seat which was sleeker (they have even cooler more modern looking things out now too) and I thought maybe that could be our go to thing, but the swing really did come in handy. And like PP have said, you are done with it after the first few months.

I was also thinking of getting a bouncer. I love the new babybjorn balance bouncer, it got good reivews and goes perfectly with the decor in our apartment. Should I still get a swing if I get a bouncer? Thanks!

We didn't even get out the swing with ds2. The vibrating bouncy seat reigned in our house for 2 kids. Ds1 only used the sqing on occasion. Unfortunately you never know if your kid will be a swing our bouncy seat kid!
Does the Baby Bjorn one take batteries? IMO, it's no where near as useful if it doesn't have the vibrating feature.

I have this same Baby Bjorn bouncer seat and we did really like that. But I used the swing even more actually. DD never actually slept in this bouncer but she would sleep in the swing. And although you are not technically supposed to leave a child unattended in the swing, I felt comfortable leaving the room for a minute with her in the swing vs. the bouncer. The strap that contains them in the Bjorn bouncer isn't really all that secure. You can also put a tiny baby in the swing but the Bjorn bouncer doesn't cradle a newborn as much.

We never had a swing, just the Bjorn bouncer...and we were very happy with it.

We used both a swing and bouncer - all the time - both were really great investments for us. The bouncer is critical, I think, as a place to put the baby when you have to cook or get the door or just rest your arms for a few minutes. We had one on each floor of the house. The swing was nice for naps. We had the FP papasan starlight that plugs in - LOVED it.
