Anyone purchase a big ticket item from Baby Universe recently?

They're having great deals on strollers but I'm hesitant to order from them since hearing about them filing for bankruptcy. Has anyone ordered any big ticket item from them recently? Good or bad experience? Thanks!

I just purchased a Baby Jogger double jogging stroller. I like the stroller a lot, but ... it's a 2006 model. I didn't think to email to ask them the manufacture date before I placed the order b/c I ordered so quickly (was afraid they'd sell out!), but it kind of annoyed me when it showed up and I saw that the manu date was 2006 (so it's been sitting in a warehouse for 2.5yrs already!). I shouldn't complain, I got a $500 stroller for $200, and I doubt I could even find a used model on CL for that! It really is a great stroller, well worth the $200, and if it has any issues in the future, I'm sure I can contact Baby Jogger.

Anyway, I say go for the stroller that you want, but be warned to call/e-mail Baby Universe and ask the manu date first!

I bought ds2 a new car seat a few weeks ago.

It arrived within 3 days and the manufacture date was Dec '08.

Hmmm...I'll add them to by Going, Going, bye-bye list. I googled it after your search and saw something linking them to eToys.com

I've ordered from the before - several times - for $$$ items, but not within the year.
