Ok, I am DONE with Palm. After spending hours on the phone with technical support (at least three sessions were CHARGED since they were beyond the 90 days) and having numerous problems with two Palm devices (desktop keeps losing data!) they finally conceded that the desktop is incompatible with XP media 2002!!! We tried to downgrade to 4.2, but that deleted everything on the calendar. Seems there is corrupted data, too. ugh.

I am furious that there is no disclaimer on the Palm website! I searched online and it's a well documented problem that Palm refuses to acknowledge.

What are the alternatives? I really don't want to pay data fees for an iphone or blackberry, though the iphone is my dream:p

I was using the Centro without the data plan, so just as a PDA/phone.

Is this the Palm Centro that uses the Palm OS? They are completely discontinuing the Palm OS so it doesn't surprise me that you aren't getting any help from Palm. I have a Palm Treo 800w that uses a Windows Mobile platform and I like it a lot. I have zero problems with items synching on my Outlook Calendar. We do have an Enterprise server at work, though, so my stuff syncs over the air. I never have to manually connect.

I don't love it the way I loved my BlackBerry, but work made me switch because they were spending too much on BlackBerrys.

Um, but I just bought it two months ago! The Centro is within the 90 day period (my z22 was not).

If it's just a PDA you want, I'm eventually going to get an iPod touch. It doesn't have data fees, but I'll only be able to use Internet with wifi. But many iPhone apps work on the iPod touch. I'm already compiling a list of what I want on there.

It means I'll have a phone and an iPod to charge and carry around. A bit of a bummer, but I don't want the extra iPhone data charges, we already pay for DH's iPhone. And ATT service in our house is crappy. It's Ok for DH as he's at work mostly. But I'm at home most days, and I'm not paying that much money for no phone use in my house.
