S/O off summer reading thread - books for kiddos?

DD and I enjoy going to the library, and we love finding new books to read together. With summer coming up, we are looking for some great books to check out. I have looked at the top 100 list that was already posted, but am looking for other suggestions (because we have read many of those) of not-so-well-known books.

Have you discovered any good kids books that may not have been mentioned before?
