I'm having a second boy, so I don't "need" any new clothing. We have TONS. But, I'd still like to get one or two cute outfits for the newborn stage. I started with the 0-3 month size last time, and even though Toby was born at 8 pounds 2 oz, he was swimming in everything. I'm hoping to find something in a smaller size than that, maybe preemie or newborn, up to 7 pounds instead of the usual 8 to 12 pounds. He lived in gowns and one-piece footie pajamas for those first few weeks, so that what I'm hoping to find.
I'd love to find something really soft and yummy and precious. What are your favorites? Let's pretend price is no object at this point. :)

I was given an Under the Nile footie for DS. It was so soft and held up really well to lots of wear!

I vote for Hanna zippers, though I haven't tried them since they restyled them a couple of years ago. The striped ones tend to be softer than the print ones. No, they don't have feet, but you can add a pair of Hanna baby socks to cover the feet. DS2 lived in these at the beginning - they are snug enough at the ankle and wrist so that babies can wear them a little big without swimming in them.

Absorba. The nice ones from Europe - but you can buy them in the US online, I think. Super soft, quite beautiful, very pricey.

I completely second this suggestion! LOVED Under the Nile infant wear - so incredibly soft. Their summer rompers are amazing too.
Also liked our Zutano and babyGap footed sleepers a lot.
LOVED our Baby Lulu gown-romper convertibles (for girls) but these weren't fitted. Appreciated Hanna zippers at a slightly older age (around 8-9 months), but these aren't footed either.

Our favorite splurge layette included
Miniclasix - extremely soft and beautiful embroidery on the footie and matching hat. So adorable that I kept one set for the keepsake box.

Baby Lulu (they also have a boy's line Pepper Toes). I particularly liked the zip up footies.

Another vote for Kissy Kissy. They are very soft and have the cutest prints.

Another vote for Kissy Kissy! I bought a "Take Me Home" set (footed PJs, light jacket, hat and bib) for DD to come home in, but she was tiny and it didn't fit. Once it did fit she wore it all the time. Then I bought another larger one when she grew out of the original. :) Congrats on your 2nd little boy! When are you due?

Thanks, everyone! I found one that I love -- the Kissy Kissy Animal Crackers footie. It's adorable!! Now I just have to find it in the right size...
I'm due in September. :)

FYI, there is a lot of Kissy Kissy priced very reasonably (probably why I didn't think of it as a splurge for this thread) at Nordstrom Rack. The girls' going home outfits are Kissy Kissy. I don't remember seeing footed sleepers but I didn't check the boys' rack, and their stock changes all the time.

Nothing more cuddly than a newborn in a kissy kissy gown.
