I am finally ready to commit to cd'ing and thought I had researched everything and decided on the Bumgenius 3.0. But I just saw that it's now offered with either fleece or suedecloth lining. Is it just a matter of personal preference? Is there an advantage to fleece over suedecloth or vice versa? For what it's worth, DS doesn't seem to have any skin sensitivities and wears fleece sleepsacks without any problems.

Hmmmmmm. Interesting...I haven't had to order new BG in long time so I didn't know of their new offering. IME, its just a preference. I think the original is the suedecloth and they are now beginning to offer the fleece. We use the BG 3.0s (suedecloth) and FuzziBunz (fleece) and I actually prefer the fleece. I tend to notice that the fleece does not hold stains as much as my suedecloth diapers. The difference in material hasn't mattered to my daughter.

HTH.

We have them both and don't really have a preference. You may want to check diaperswappers or clothdiapernation, there may be more opinions there.

Fleece wicks away wetness and keeps your baby dry better. But it also gets pilly and old looking much, much sooner.

I have all the original suede cloth Bum Genius dipes that I started out with, with Hannah 3 years ago, and the insides look nearly new. It's only the velcro that is seriously clogged up with lint (I need to sit down with them all and pick it out while I watch TV).

I just bought a 6 pack of the new fleece inners for the newest baby to wear, because I do love fleece, how soft it is, and how dry it keeps baby. But I don't expect that it will look so new when he is done wearing them.

Love the suedecloth - looks better longer and it really wicks away the moisture.
