My wife and I have been using the Avent bottles for the past 8 months and have finally gotten sick of the hassle and felt we should let others know. The problem is the bottles leak losing precious milk or formula. After, talking to a couple of daycare workers we realized it wasn't just us so I called the company. Apparently if you put the cap on too tight it will leak. We now spend a minute or two every bottle trying to get the cap on just right. I have finally emailed the company asking for a refund so we can purchase other bottles but despite their statement that they will respond in two days, we haven't heard from them. In summary I strongly recommend that the Avent bottles are not worth the hassle and people should avoid buying them.

i had read this in many reviews. good luck as far as the refund goes. i always contact customer service for all products when/if there is a problem. i am known to be quite crazy about it actually. my friends think that i am nuts. i would be surprised if you end up getting a refund. they will likey say that the bottles work if the ring is put on correctly. perhaps they will send you new rings or bottles, but i doubt a refund. you'll just get more junk to throw in the landfill.

let us know how you do.

We are on the same page. We've made it to the year mark with our Avent bottles, and they seem to leak more the older they get. We have to test the bottles when we first fill them at night and again in the morning before we go to daycare, as they seem to leak more after they've been sitting in the fridge even if they didn't leak right away. For the next baby, we're going to buy a different brand, which is too bad since we spent ~$75 on the 8 bottles we have. Their sippy cups leak too, so I'm just disappointed in the brand all around.

It's better than Playtex Drop-ins, but leaks for us too. I still like it but it is a hassle. I keep a burp cloth ready for the leaks.

Which bottle would you recommend? I actually bought the Sassy Mam but never used it yet.

We have loved our Dr. Brown bottles. A few more parts to wash, but they have worked great - a year so far and ready for the next kid.
My friend uses Born Free for her triplets, a year so far and she still loves them.
I bought one this time around just to try out the brand.
The only reason why I have the two advent bottles that I have is they were free. They do leak though...I agree with that.
Another reason I like the regular Dr. Browns because they can be secured right on to my Medela pump and I can pump right into the bottle.

Another die hard Dr. Brown fan here. We started with Born Free, but moved on to Dr. Brown pretty quickly. DS is now over 5months. Yeah, there are extra parts to deal with, but one gets used to it. Also, their pitchers are indispensable for mixing several bottles of formula ahead....
