I am making salad as my contribution for a picnic. So, I got the non-organic cheaper stuff at Costco. There is this intense gold sheen on my peppers. I can wipe some of it off, but I really wanna know what it is. Is this the waxy stuff they put on peppers? Is this pesticide?!

Anyone?

Hmmmm... is it waxy? Maybe it's the wax they put on fruit and veggies to make them shine. Gold, though. That's interesting.

I thought it might be the wax, but it doesn't come off. I scrubbed the peppers and wiped them down with a web paper towel, and it's not coming off. These are red, orange, and yellow peppers. I did end up putting them int he tomato/mozzerella salad for the picnic we went to, but I didn't let DS have any ...

That's VERY strange. Gold.

I dunno, Fairy, I've seen some Costco "high-ending" of low end stuff, but gold on peppers is a little beyond believable. ;)

Very darn funny, Ivy. :-). Ok, really, tho, it's a golden, like, shine thing. I will try to take a photo. Ugh.

If you don't like them, return them to Costco. They take everything back and maybe they should know that their product has a metallic sheen?!
