Yesterday I gave DS tuna for lunch (something like chicken pot pie but with tuna). A few hours later he wakes up from his nap smelling like fish. He had sweat quite a bit so at first I smelled him and I thought it was his shirt, I figured it was his sweat. The DH comes downstairs and I don't say anything, just look at him, and sure enough he makes a weird face and sniffs DS closely. I asked "does he smell like fish to you?" He said yeah, and we were both really puzzled, he though it must be his pee, because the diaper smelled more strongly. I changed his diaper and it turned that was where the smell was coming from.
So, is it normal for my 18 month old DS's pee to smell like a fishery after eating tuna?
We CD, but I'm really careful to use liners when we use diaper rash ointment. But now I'm thinking maybe some of it got on the diaper and that could what we smelled? (I've been using triple paste). And that's the only time it's happened.
