DD2 is 19 mos. and probably not even 25 lbs., but I'm starting to get the feeling she needs to start wearing Pampers Cruisers Step 4 (she's still in 3's which have a weight limit of 28 lbs.). She's tall, but skinny and I doubt she's more than 21-22 lbs, but I feel like I'm having to center her a$$ cheeks in the diaper lately. Can you tell me how you know it's time to go to next size?

We usually go up a size either when she starts leaking out of the diaper, or when the sides of the front dont quite meet the sides of the back.

DD is almost 19 months and probably weights just under 25lbs and she's about 33'' tall..........and I actually just bumped her up to size 5!!
I've been bumping her up way before she gets to the end of the weight limit....I feel like when the poops start to get way to close to going "beyond" the diaper it's time to move up......Plus, like you mentioned.....I like to just plop her bottom down and not have to make sure it's centered!!

I would move her to size 4 now. My ds is about 25 pounds and has been in a 4 for more than 5 months. If the diaper is leaking more or you have difficulty putting a diaper on it is time to size up. I never go with the weight recommendations for diapers.

The Cruisers haven't leaked (save for 1 time when she was really moving around in her sleep & the area near her thigh shifted). Aside from that, the Size 3's were still great as far as leak protection. But based on the responses, it seems like I do need to move her up to size 4 . Good thing I'm almost out of the size 3's & didn't stock up! Thanks, everyone!

I'm a cheap, so I only move up when I feel I have to, so for me that means when they start leaking out or they are too big around to get the straps to close securely enough. My 32 pound 2 year old is still in a size 3 Huggies because he doesn't leak. Now it does require some positioning and I put him a 4 for overnight, but if it still works, don't fix it - or at least don't pay more per diaper for that.

For awhile, I did 3s for daytime and 4s for night. I like how there's lots of extra room so if she pees a lot at night, there's more room and it's not touching her the whole time. (When she stands, the diaper kind of hangs low.. LOL!) But like you, now I'm finding the 4s not as roomy as they were before so I'm just using up what I have left and I bought 4s recently.

FWIW, DD is 16 months, 23.5 lb and tall --but forget the height.

My 18-month old is 27 pounds and 33.5 inches long and she's been in size 5 Cruisers for more than a month. I moved her up when she started chafing on the elastic around her legs.

I move up when there is a leaking issue or when I simply cannot get a good fit around the thighs/hips. FWIW, at 19 months DS was in a 6 as was DD. Both DS and DD were thick in the middle until about age 2 when they started slimming out.

Blow outs and elastic marks on the legs. I have realized that you shouldn't pay attention to the weights on the package, but how they fit your DC.

:yeahthat:

My 23 pound 20 monther is kinda small for his age and is doing size 5's at night and once I finish the pack of 4's I have, he'll be doing 5's during the day, too!
