Any reason NOT to buy a refurbished iPod from Apple.com?

I am a little confused as to why people buy new when the refurbished iPods are $50 cheaper and come with the same warranty. I am getting ready to order one for my Mom's Bday so...any help on this one. would be appreciated

I am all about refurb here. Taping this post out on a refurb Mac Book Pro as a matter of fact. ;)

We have never had more trouble with refurb than with brand new, in fact we have had less over the years generally with refurb stuff than brand new.

We have bought refurbed stuff from them before (not specifically an ipod) and never had an issue.

Refurbs all the way here too! And i agree w/ Katie....in most instances, the refurbs have ended up better. And with the $50 you save, get Applecare on ebay!

All of our ipods are refurbs. No problems at all.
