I was rear-ended yesterday

TG, the girls weren't in the van with me. Beautiful sunny day, dry roads and some idiot rear-ends the lady behind me and she hits me. Nice. I don't have time to deal with the insurance co, dr's, physio, not to mention the body shop. Not a lot of damage to the van, but the bumper will have to be replaced. Ins. co isn't being great about replacing the child restraints, but we'll worry about that later.

My back was sore before I even got my seatbelt undone. DH and I were hit by a drunk driver almost 15 yrs ago, and I had 2 yrs of physio with that. Sigh.

The at-fault driver is a dink. I think he's trying to get the other lady and I not to file with our ins. cos. Too bad, jacka$$, I called and started a claim at the scene. Bite me. The ins. co is being pretty nice to me -- I'm absolutely not at fault, they've waived my deductible, have fast-tracked my claim and set up all the medical benefits over the telephone, I only have to go into see their estimator today re the vehicle damage.

DH, OTOH, is being a jerk. Um, dude, a little sympathy would be nice.

Ugh, I hate all the stuff that goes into getting in an accident. It's an absolute nightmare, even when it's not your fault. I got hit when I was taking my mom to work (her car was at the dealership for a recall repair of some kind), and even though the damage to my car was minimal, it was in the shop for two weeks, and my parents were dealing with the other guy's insurance company for a lot longer than that.

Glad to hear there was no major damage to car or driver, although, if you have the time, I would definitely go get your back checked out asap just in case. His insurance would have to pay if anything happened to your back because of this accident right?

It's his fault no matter what. I was the middle car in an accident on the freeway and I spun and hit someone else. All fault was on the driver who hit me. Good luck and I hope you heal quickly.

What a PITA. Hoping you don't have any medical issues that arise, and that the insurance companies just take care of the rest and you can put it behind you.

I feel your pain. I got rear ended last spring. Total load of bs. The other guys ins. gave me a little bit of hassle but we expected it. dd2 was in the car and dd1 was in the back row of the sienna. Since your kids were in the car you should be in the catbird seat.

As far as your dh is it possible that aliens got ahold of him?

Goodness, I'm glad to hear you're alright, but your DH should be ashamed that he's not being more supportive. Hope insurance straightens everything out and you don't need to get all lawyer-like on his a$$ ;)

I got into one of these years ago, but was the driver at fault :bag. Isn't that what we pay insurance for, though? THey don't call it an accident for nothing. In my defense, the guy I hit didn't have brake lights, but my insurance didn't make a fuss about it. Even for the guy who DIDN'T get hit but pulled over anyway. There are scummy people everywhere. I digress.

I just wanted to offer my heartfelt sympathy. DH was a complete a$$ too. He went into cop mode and never even asked if I was ok. MEN! Hug first, then scold, dude!
