Anybody know where to get the best price on schleich animals? I know the age on them is 5 and up but our son has a giraffe that he got when he was 14 months and he loves it so we were thinking about getting him more animals for christmas.

I've found that Target has pretty good prices. The selection is not that wonderful but they do get new ones every now and then.
My son has played with them since he was about your sons age too and has never had a problem.

I have gotten almost all of ours at Target. I keep an eye out for when they go on clearance.

If you are a member of your local zoo, check their gift shop. Ours carries the largest assortment I've seen, and we get 10% off when we show our membership card. Their normal prices are the same as Target and LE.

We have been getting Safari Ltd. animals at AC Moore or Michael's using the coupons. My girls do really like them and I think they are comparable quality and phthalte free. They have nice detail and weight to them. I don't think my girls would know the difference.

Believe it or not Tractor Supply BM stores. A lot of times they have a tub of them that are on clearance (about 1/3 the cost). Prices are almost always less than Target. We have about 50 different animals and my son is 3 1/2.

IMO The Schleich animals are much nicer. I think they are hand painted so they look a little more realistic. Safari Ltd. has some that Schleich doesn't have though.

I got some as favors for my son's birthday party earlier this year, and the best prices I found were at www.reallygreattoys.com. That being said, I ordered enough to get free shipping; I'm not sure how their prices compare if you have to pay for shipping. I hadn't heard of the company before, but delivery was quick and I had no issues at all.

Update -- looks like they have $5 shipping now, so if you are ordering a few, this may be your cheapest option.

What a great idea! I usually try to avoid the gift shop. I'll have to check next time.
