We have hardwood in our house and I'm looking for a 5x8 or 8x8 area rug for the nursery. We're using the Brandee Danielle African Plains bedding, but the baby is a girl, so I'm not averse to something kind of girly for the floor.

The walls are sage.

Any suggestions for a source? I've looked at Target and a few other places, but I haven't found anything I love so far.

I always stand behind Flor tiles for rugs. Hold up amazingly well and SO easy to clean. We have had a large Flor rug on our playroom for the past couple of years and it still looks new..no lie.

You can take advantage of a really great deal they have if you like Pooh. The fields of Honey kit is sage/ivory and really a steal at $89.70 for an 8x10 rug http://www.flor.com/service/flor/shop/sale.html.

If you want to get something more plush I would go with the two tone shag tiles that are also on sale (same link as above). They have some nice earth tones to compliment your bedding.

I agree with the other poster -- I'd go with a smaller rug so that you can get a nicer quality for the price and wash it as needed. But if you really want a larger area rug in that price range, then places like Target, Ikea and Ollie's are probably your best bets.

I've never tried Ikea rugs so I can't vouch for how they wear (I do think they're a thinner quality and more of a polyester feel from what I've seen in the store). That said, this rug seems to be popular: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20101871
I suppose that's more of a "boy" design but they have other patterns too.

I second overstock. I bought all our rugs from there, except the one in the nursery. I love the IKEA rugs for the nursery.

As soon as I can afford it, I'm getting one at Lowes. It matches my room decor.

I went with this rug because I wanted the look of natural fiber without the roughness of jute or seagrass- so far I've been very pleased! You may also check www.homedecorators.com- they have good deals on certain rugs.
