I am standing in my kitchen A LOT, and I've been getting a sore back lately. Recently one of my friends mentioned wanting to get an anti-fatigue mat for her kitchen. She was inspired by the one advertised in the BB&B ad. So I'm considering purchasing one as well. I Googled it and realized there are a ton of options.

Where would I even research that sort of purchase? I tried searching for it here with no luck. Now that I have successfully used this forum for so long I find it very difficult to purchase anything without researching it first. Love you guys!!

Anyone have any recommendations? TIA!

I forget where DH got ours. But they look like the same ones that are advertised in the back of home-type magazines. They are brown with a criss-cross kind of pattern. THey have some kind of gel inside.
My back used to kill me when washing dishes but they mats must be working because I no longer have that problem. I wasn't too hot on how they looked at first but now I love them because they seem to really be working.

I have seen one at Costco. If you are a member you may want to check there.

I saw the gel mats @ Costco too. They look like they hold up really well and you can't beat Costco's return policy. They seemed very cush; I just didn't like any of the colors.

I got mine at a Korean/Asian market. I think it was ~$15 and it came in a natural wood grain motif that matched the rest of my kitchen. It's filled with a memory foam material instead of gel but it's super comfy and everyone comments on it.

Anyone seen a navy one? I'm a navy addict and would love to have one to match our kitchen!

I've wanted to get one for my mother for a couple years now. Good to know that they work as advertised!!!

Now all I have to do is measure her kitchen ...

I've been wanting to get one, too, but have been turned off by the high price tag. Anyone know if they help people w/plantar fasciitis? That's what I have and it hurts to stand on our wood kitchen floors for a while. I made cookies this weekend and after about 30 minutes my feet and legs were really hurting.
TIA!

I bought a cheaper one at Target and it really seems to help my back.

What colors did they have @ Costco? I have a beige kitchen floor, so almost anything would match.

I think Bed Bath and Beyond carries them now too.

Williams Sonoma has some. I love the ones with the roosters, but DH can't stand it. They usually have some with a French Country theme.

I went to Costco tonight and couldn't find them. Didn't have time to ask, as I was checking out just as they closed, and I needed to get to TJ's after that before they closed. Where in Costco are they??

We were using some thick foam mats in our kitchen like this: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=13164568&RN=674 but the inability to wash them really grossed me out. They are basically like big mouse pads, with a fabric-like surface. You can "spot clean" them, but that is it. They did provide a little comfort, but my feet/back would still start hurting if I was on my feet for a couple hours in the kitchen.

I recently bought one of the Sublime Comfort mats that they sell at BB&B. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=122222&RN=674 (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=122222&RN=674) It was $59.99 for a 24" x 36" size but I used a 20% off coupon. So far we're really liking the mat and I'm planning on buying a couple more as I get more coupons. I've stood on it for long periods of time and my feet/back haven't hurt at all. They also claim to be eco-friendly, which is nice, and I loved the fact it didn't stink of chemically, off-gassing fumes like all the other ones we've ever bought have!

I didn't buy the pro gel version, but BB&B sells those as well for more money. The pro gel ones just seemed too squishy for my taste and I was honestly afraid of what would happen if a DC poked a hole in the thing! We already had an incident with a gel filled hairbrush handle leaking all over the place, so I'm hesitant to buy more gel things LOL!
