We have the red duck one for our 3.5 year old and just upgraded her to the Giro Rodeo so that her 1.5 YO brother could have smaller helmet. I probably could keep her in this size a little while longer but figured by the time spring rolled around the Rodeo would be a good fit. Anyways, we really love these helmets and purchased from REI for $30 so passing this great deal on to you!!

Thank you! I was thinking of getting this helmet the other day at Dicks Sporting Goods for retail value.

Good find. I grabbed one since we have one already, but will need two next year when the girls start getting pushed around on the trike (we start the helmet rule early and often).

Thanks, we're giving her a tricycle and had forgotten about the helmet part until just the other day. This was perfect, especially with prime!
I'm not as fond of the blue pigs as the pink bunnies, but DD LOVES blue so flying pigs it is!

Thanks! That was a great deal. We had just bought two (twins) at Dick's last week for full price. I'm not in love with the designs...but for that price I'll deal!

I really need one for DS but I just mesured him and his head is almost 21". What helmet would work for him?
And, yes, we are a big headed family....

Thank you! DD will need one in the spring. I'm sorry to be ignorant. Are these a lot better than the Target one I got DS? I think there are 2 types of certifications, and the Target one had the "lesser" certification (can't remember what it is).

Per Giro website, youth helmets as follows:
Me2 = 18.75”-20.5”
Rodeo = 19.75”-21.75”
Flume = 21.25-24”

Giro helmets are great!! This is the only helmet my daughter does not try to take off. We have 2 of the pink bunnies and love them. (Unfortunately we paid full price). Great price! Am tempted to snag one in the next size...

Ack - I'm at work so can't measure DD's head, but she's almost 20 months and tall but she fits fine into 18 month hats - any ideas of whether the Me2 size will work for her?

We have the giro rodeo one for ds (3 years). I believe we bought it for him at age 2 because he out grew the toddler one we had for him from Target. He has a pretty large head, so being able to adjust the Giro helmet has worked out wonderfully for us.

i would say so. it fits my 3.5 YO, however she is about to outgrow it soon. the REI salesguy fitted her for it just before 3 YO so i would say this would def be the size you need. highly doubt her head is big enough for Rodeo and the point is that they fit correctly.

So i didn't think about this until I saw this thread but I got ds a tiny power wheels quad for xmas, he's 16 months. Should I put a helmet on him when he rides it? Max speed is 2mph.

its not the speed he's going as much as how far is he off the ground and if he came crashing down - head first - on pavement. at least that's how i look at it. plus, i instill helmet on any outdoor riding toy at a young age b/c it becomes routine and no fights later on. its just the way it is.

:yeahthat: When you start early it's just totally natural to wear one every time they're on a bike.
