At what age can you start dressing little girls in tights? Ive seen them in tights at all ages but wondered if Im trying to do this too early.
I got excited for the Boden sale and purchased a three pack of their cotton tights in size 6-12 months and have no idea if she will be too young and not really wear them. Plus I think I read that they run a tad small? (?) She will be 9 months old in the fall - mid range for that size. Do you think thats too young for tights? Paid $18 for a 3-pack - I'd hate to waste that money if she will still be realistically too young.
I think Im just addicted to hosiery of all kinds! Little girl already has about 25 pair of socks!

I put them on my daughter as soon as she was born I think, I have photos of her wearing them at 3 months. She had these crazy long legs so I always dressed her in separates, and even then pants were a struggle because she was skinny too.

I put them on my Dd as soon as they fit. I love thick cotton tights and am not a fan of bare baby skin in colder months anyhow. Once she starts to try to pull-up or walk I'd put shoes over the bottoms like Robeez, but lately I've seen some even have grips on the tights.
I LOVED the tights that little like little mary janes.

My girls have worn tights for a few months now - mostly the thick Hanna Andersson tights with matching sweater dresses. Not sure how that will work once they start crawling but for now it gets the job done.

We didn't start tights till DD turned 3! Now she won't wear anything but. I don't plan to inflict them on the new baby right away, but maybe starting at 2? (I always hated tights and still do, which is why I stayed away for so long! DD on the other hand, loves them.)

My dd started wearing them around 2.5-3, after she started wearing dresses, and after she decided she didn't like leggings. I personally thought they were a pain to put on a little kid--leggings/socks combo is a lot easier. Try them, after all, it's how you feel about them too.

I hated them as a kid, too, so I didn't offer them to DD1 until she was 3 and potty-trained.

My DD is almost 3 months, and I put her in tights with her Christmas dress, but that was the only time we have so far. I honestly can't picture myself putting her in tights/dresses for a while, but maybe that's because we live in New England and it's cold.

At that age while you're doing mostly carrying I would only have a few cheap pair for pictures/special outfits. 6-12 is notorious blowout time and I'd hate to try to salvage $6 tights. It's tempting and I bought a bunch, but never used them (still don't much DD is only 16 months) Not great for diaper changes and terrible if there is leaking diaper. As DD gets older and is walking I will get her nicer ones.

My girls have never worn them (as I hated them), but we've done babylegs quite a bit. A much nicer alternative, IMO.
I have always hated tights etc... However, DD has worn them with dresses since she was about 3 months old. I never minded dealing with tights and diapers. Plus, DD wears them to shul with her dresses. I don't put her in tights at preschool --mainly b/c the teachers are not really good at helping her keep her dress/skirt out of the way when using the toilet. DD is potty training now and when she is completely trained I will probably start letting her wear tights to school--she likes to wear dresses but I have been only putting her in pants.

DD was definitely wearing tights before she turned 3 months - and at 4 years old, she still loves them and would happily wear them every day. I prefer the thicker cotton tights, as they seem warmer and more comfortable. We just do the microfiber tights for dressy holiday dresses (Christmas and Easter, some weddings).

I love tights on little girls! My baby was wearing tights as soon as it got cooler here in East Coast (she was a spring baby). She's very comfortable in thicker cotton tights and cotton dresses, much more than in pants.. And they don't make changing a diaper more difficult at all. She was maybe 5 months (but a size of a 3 month old, she was a preemie), she's 8 months now and can wear 6-12 months tights finally - more choices LOL, and they look so cute with a sweater dress. She stays home with me, but I don't see why we can't wear nicer clothes, even if we don't get out much! :D
I'm also doing baby legs when it gets warmer!!
