I ought to be ashamed to post this, but something is needling me and I gotta get it out some where. Some where safe ;).
We live in a really, really tiny community. There is a lady here who DD completely loves and adores but she drives me absolutely bananas. I call her The Princess. *everything* in the whole world is about her. She takes offense at the slightest perceived rudeness (mostly imaginary) and spends much of her life in a snit about everyone and everything. She does not have conversations, she had running dialogue about herself and how she's been wronged my this person or that situation. But DD loves her so I bite my tongue and put up with the endless ME, ME, ME.
Bad move!
A friend of mine just let it slip that The Princess is planning to host my baby shower. :( I just can't catch a break. The last one was a shared shower with 5 other pregnant women and I was allowed to invite 3 guests. It was a big fat whoop-t-doodle of nothing. This time it is being hosted by a woman who has alienated just about everyone in our tiny community.
AGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!
(and yes, I know that I should be happy and grateful that I am going to get a shower period, but sheeeeeesh it feels like I'd be better off not having one at all than having a miserable time of it. I'm just bummed. Please be more generous that I am right now and forgive my lack of gratitude.)
