I have seen a lot of posts on Frontier vs Nautilus. Also posts on how the Radian seats are narrow on the bottom so great if you need to install 3 across. I have one DC so the width of the seat isn't much of an issue.
Would anyone just recommend the Radian 65 or 80 on it's own? (and not due to tight squeeze installation issues?) I have read about how it is not as easy to get a tight install using the seatbelt. Of course if you use Superlatch not an issue.

I am intrigued by the Superlatch system on this carseat. Is this truly safe? I have a 2010 Escape so it should conform to the guidelines for using their weight limits for SuperLatch. I had been set on the Frontier but the ability and ease of using latch on the Radian would be great.

Any insight would be great. Thanks all!

Here (http://carseatblog.com/?p=4146) is some more info about SuperLatch.

If your child is already forward facing and you won't be turning him/her back around, then the only reason for getting a Radian over a Frontier is if you need the narrowness.

If you can hold out another month or two, the Frontier85 is coming out soon and is rumored to have an easier install than the original Frontier.

How old is your dc and how much does he/she weigh?

I can tell you that we had a super-easy time installing the RN in a 2008 or 2009 Ford Escape. I'm truly stumped as to when it was we had that demo -- I think it was 2 years ago. I also can't recall if we installed via LATCH or belts, I'm thinking belts.

Having said that, yeah, if the child is already FFg, I'd get a FR over a RN.

Thank you both! We tried both the Radian and the Frontier today. Still really like the Frontier. True about the Radian since she has been ff for the past 1.5 years. DD will be 4 this summer. She is very long torsoed so I was concerned about her growing out of her MA very soon. I was temporarily blinded by the Superlatch feature on the Radian but I am over it. The Frontier seems to be the best all around.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer!
