DH and I were discussing a local farm (whose children attend school with my DD) that has started selling raw milk at the farm to the public. This idea thrills DH, since he spent much of his childhood on a farm in Denmark. Being that I don't like milk (unless it's butter or cheese, lol) I haven't spent a lot time ever thinking about raw milk... So if you use it in your family, can you tell me why? The benefits? Do you have safety concerns? Do you pick yours up or have it delivered?
TIA

I don't have any experience with raw milk, but the blog www.musingsofahousewife.com has several posts and good links about it. Good luck!

yes we use it not all the time now I found a dairy closer that sells unhomogenized milk ( but pasturized). I personally think its better for you and easier to digest. We only buy organic raw milk

we used to but stopped because it was too inconvenient. i had one day per week reserved for me and every week, on my day, i had to drive 30min to the farm to pick up my milk. if we ran out, i had to wait until my day or buy regular milk at the grocery store. and i had to take a set amount each week, even if i didn't need it all.
i liked that it was not processed in way, truly natural. i just believe that the less we do, the better. i assume that it is healthier.
dh loved the taste. he is extremely particular about the taste of milk. he doesn't like the taste of any of the brands found in grocery stores. he says it is no wonder so many people don't like milk, the milk isn't real milk. dh grew up on raw milk, straight from the cow.
i would go back to raw milk if i could get it more conveniently.

I'm pretty sure Beth (Brittone) does , but she is out on maternity leave :)
I read an amazing book called Real Food by Nina Plank, and it forever changed the way I think about food. If I could get raw milk here, I would. It's just too far out.
