I saw a pre-school parent parking her car today. Both her kids were in Radians. Both FF. One child is a SMALL 3 yr old. the other is just recently 1. He looked so swallowed up in that seat and esp FF. I wish well off well educated parents paid more attention to safety rather than her very expensive purse and her kids designer clothes.

That's all.

Yeah, on one hand I get so sad when I see parents in real life not 'getting it' and on the other I've been doing this so long I'm relieved to see things are so much better than they used to be. Sigh.

At least they were both in safe well rated and hopefully well installed seats.

You can tell they are well educated by looking at them? Perhaps in fashion school since she had expensive purse and designer clothes

I'm guessing they at least kind of know the family since the kids go to the same preschool. I know what the other parents at ds2's preschool do for a living thus I could say well educated about the Dr.s, lawyers... it isn't a stretch for her to guess that.

We know a well educated well off couple with 3 kids. All should still be in at least a booster, but only the youngest is, sometimes. They actually told us in so many words that they know better but they just don't follow through. Even Dh was scratching his head on this one. They are great parents in every other respect, and it puzzles him that they would fail to follow through on something like this.

It only matters if they are involved in a car accident. Its human nature to underestimate risks if they don't routinely see or experience the problem (car accidents in this case).
