After looking everywhere online, the 4T gymbos from last year fit him, a tad loose in the waist, and match perfect with the Gap rash guard I got for $3-4 on clearance at the end of last summer, ROFL! If I had just pulled out the swim trunks earlier, sigh. They also fall to his mid-knee so they look super cute. I couldn't find where I had folded the waistband over and made a pleat to take them up last year, I definitely remember doing it, I don't remember taking it out at all so I am very perplexed :dizzy:! Oh well!

Now if I could find Noah's swim trunks from last year, I think they may still fit him!

I need some swim trunks for my DS that is very tall and skinny, he weighs about 37 lbs and is almost 45" tall. I had read on here another mama said Hanna Andersson fit skinny boys, but he is between 100 and 110. Actually 100 deck pants are loose on his waist, 100 tops are a tad too short. I don't really want to pay that much for swim trunks and a rash guard that might not last the summer, kwim?

Last year I bought a pair of full elastic waist swim trunks from Boden in 4T, he wore 4T by height and very tightened adjustable waist. By their measurements I thought they would fit, they were huge, I didn't even try them on him, I just sent them back. I ended up folding over (making a big pleat) in a pair of Gymbo's and sewing it up for him.

I don't really want to do that if I don't have to, it took alot of time since I did it by hand and going thru all those layers of fabric, ugh!

So if anyone can suggest any swim trunks that might fit him that would be great. I don't want to size down and have swim trunks that look like booty shorts!

we just bought our ds (34lbs, 40") trunks from lands end. they have the adjustable waist, which is tricky to find in swim trunks. hth.

last year he wore a gap suit that was HUGE!!! it will fit him again this year.

thank god for the adjustable waist!! hth

DS1 is incredibly skinny - wears size 10 pants but can wear size 6 shorts because his waist is so small. I honestly just size down with swimsuits. Look for a longer pair (readily available at Target, Sears, whatever) and buy a smaller size to fit his waist. For example, Lands End has a bunch of board shorts that I can't imagine would look like "booty shorts" if you buy a size 3 or 4 to fit his waist.

I looked for them but must be missing them. Could you by chance please add a link? Otherwise what experience I've with Lands End is short and wide.

I've looked around but can't find anything (sized down) that matches the rash guard I got at Gap super cheap on clearance at the end of last summer. I thought it would be easy, its cream on the front with some blue and orange, brown sleeves and down the sides. You find a bargain and then its really not a bargain!

That is what we do with DS. He wears a size 6 slim pants and a size 4T swimsut and shorts.

Dang, I did find some at Gap that matched the rash guard ok enough but the 30% coupon expired yesterday.

Boden says they are experiencing shipping problems.

I guess I will have to take all the stitching out of the 4T Gymbo from last year and see if they fit him now. I know the top will be too short, plus I need 2 bottoms in 4T since Noah actually wears 4t, sort of, its loose but 3t is too small.

Maybe I'll take another look at Lands End, he has such a long torso I may get a larger top than 5, LE tops in 4t from last year were too short on him and he had just grown into 4t.
