I'm expecting twins in August! We have two boys already and we used the diaper champ with both all the way through their diaper phase. It is finally worn out - i.e. can't retain any stink and is basically gross. I'd like to get a new diaper pail, but I'm not in love with the redesign of the diaper champ. I'm interested in the Diaper Dekor Plus and/or the Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Disposal System - anyone have reviews of either/both? Other diaper pails that people love? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks!

We're happy with the Diaper Genie II Elite, although we have never tried any others. Keeps the smell in for now. I use baking soda at the bottom and spray with Lysol every few times I change the bag. It's easy to change the bag. Not perfect, but it works for us. We will see about the stink when DD starts solids.

We also have the Diaper Genie II Elite and love it. We got it when my toddler started solids and we also have a newborn now and it keeps the smell under control. I use Lysol with it also.

I wouldn't bother with one. I just used a regular, lidded trash can and took trash out as needed. I flush the solid waste when it starts to be firm enough for that. It is recommended for many reasons (like not contaminating ground water by letting the disposable with poop in it go to the landfill) but I do it b/c my mom suggested it and it makes an *enormous* difference on the smell factor! I have had no issues and no need for a real diaper pail b/c of doing that. It's not gross and it is real fast and easy.

I love my old style diaper champ, and we still have to use it (those renuzit discs work great in the bottom!) for DD's night time diapers. I would look on Freecycle for one (who knows?) because the new diaper chanp is not nearly as good as the old one. It doesn't retain stink at all. It deserves it's C+ rating it got from Baby Bargains. I had a regular diaper genie for a while with DD and I didn't like it at all (found it too be wasteful), but I have heard better things about the II model. This time around we are getting a pail and the disc from the diaper service.

I feel your pain.

When we saw that Diaper Champ had been "improved", we searched consignment shops for two weeks until we found an old model in good shape to be on our 2nd floor, we were so impressed with the older model one we already had.

That would sure be my recomendation, in your place.

I do hear good things about the Diaper Genie II Elite, though, which is what my daycare/preschool uses.

We have the Diaper Dekor and have been very happy with it. Used it for 2 yrs with DD1 and are getting ready to re-use with #2! It's actually in our bedroom, where the changing table is, and I'm super smell-sensitive, and I think it does a good job keeping odors under control.
