My mom is staying with my postpartum sister and she needs the soup recipe that's on the side of the quick-cooking barley box. I cannot find it online for the life of me! It's a recipe for vegetable soup. She said it's quick cooking barley. recipe has one pound of ground beef, 2 tablespoons of chicken boullion, some barley obviously, and you add frozen veggies at the end.
Mom thinks the brand of barley is made by Minute Rice, but i can't find anything but rice on that site. maybe the brand is Mother's?
My dad isn't home, or he could just read it to her over the phone. I"m waiting for the electrician, so i can't go out and buy a box and read it. does anyone out there happen to ahve the box and could post the recipe?:bowdown::bowdown:
THANK YOU!!!
Anne

Not to discourage you or your mom, but in our culture, barley is considered "cooling" for the body, and not somethnig that we would give a PP woman. We typically give "heat-giving" food like garlic, sesame seed, etc. The heat is supposed to help recover better and also with lactation. Just FYI.

thanks for your imput. I'm pretty sure my mom is making the soup for the rest of the family-- not sure if my sister is hungry for it. I'll pass along your info on garlic and sesame--although i'm pretty sure they're not making that either.
what culture are you?
thanks,
Anne
