hoarse voice?

Hi everyone...wondering if any of you have had babies who've experienced any of these symptoms that my baby has had a for a couple days. She is 5 weeks old and her voice is hoarse all of a sudden. When she cries or makes any noise her voice just sounds raw and hoarse. She also has been having very sticky saliva. It seems thick and kind of frothy. It almost seems like her mouth is a little dry...so I was worried she might be a little dehydrated but every time I change her, she has a wet diaper with clear pee. She is otherwise fine, just a little fussy now and then and pretty fussy in the evening (but isn't this normal).

She's my first baby. She's exclusively breastfed. Could the above be reflux symptoms (but she barely spits up. Maybe once a day, and doesn't cry with her meals...just in the evening)? She doesn't seem to have a cold- not congested.

I called the dr today and he didn't seem concerned at all. He said just keep an eye on it and if it continues to bring her in.

Any thoughts? Any one have a baby with these weird symptoms?

My first thought was reflux. Your baby doesn't have to spit up to have reflux. There is something called "silent reflux" that can happen where no spitting up is required.

Is your baby nursing? I suppose something like thrush (which is a type of yeast infection) could be to blame. It can invade the mouth and throat...so maybe that's something to check into? It would look like white patches in her mouth/cheeks.
