I can't believe the only thing DD wants for Christmas is the black American girl horse. I had it in my cart yesterday and got distracted- now its sold out! How can that be??? I have nothing now :(

I am sending you a PM with the personal shopper contacts I have for the NYC store. Hopefully, the horse will be in stock in one of the stores and they can ship it to you. Sometimes, they also throw in a few freebies (posters, etc.).

Thanks so much for the info, I just shot her an email. I've never heard of personal shoppers before! Got my fingers crossed.

I called the 800 number for the retail stores (found it on the website) to get Kit's typewriter which was sold out online. There was one in Chicago and they shipped it to me and only charged me $4.95 shipping :)

If the black horse belongs to Felicity or Elizabeth, good luck. Those two are being discontinued.

OMG thanks so much to Melbel its all being shipped today. The 1800AG mail order people were so negative last night. They said that if it was out of stock it was discontinued and there'd be none in any stores. The personal shopper found it immediately and says she's shipping today. Yay :)

Have to say I'd never heard of personal shoppers and I don't really understand the service because the price plus shipping is exactly the same as the website, I assumed it would be extra.

:yay: I am so happy it worked out for you. I have used a personal shopper a couple times. The first was my mother/daughter trip (with another mom/daughter) to NYC. The personal shopper had PJ sets and a few goodies waiting for us in the hotel room. The second was when I was coordinating an AG basket for a school fundraiser. They certainly do come in handy for the out of the ordinary purchases. AG is pricey, but at least they provide good customer service for the most part.
