I would like to take advantage of all the winter sales and buy some stuff ahead.
DD is wearing size 80 in HAs right now. I bought some stuff in size 90 for next winter.
She is 11 months now, is in the 98% for height, and currently wears 18 month sizing in everything but tops. She wears 12 months size for tops.
I went past Carter's today and bought a ton of 2T clothes for next winter. DH thinks that I should've bought 3T instead.
Any advice? Will I need to exchange all the 2T clothes for 3T?

I did the same thing last year, but DD was 15 months in December. Ordered a bunch of 2T and needed 3T. But 90s fit fine still. I got confused that it basically went from 18-24 months to 3T (not 2T). Some brands have 2T and some go from 24 months to 3T. It's confusing. I usually try to err on the side of bigger if it's something that can be rolled at cuff or worn as dress and then tunic top. You can sort of estimate based on sizing charts and plotting your child on the CDC growth charts.

I don't know how Carter's sizing works. DD's 27 months and HA size 90s are tad bigger, she's wearing them now and I have a feeling she'll be able to wear them next winter too. I recently bought Gap/Old Navy footed sleepers in 3T and they're a tag bigger on the foot and height wise, might not work next winter. I bought some mini boden in 3 YR for next winter and tried it on her and they're loose on her so I feel she'll be ready for it next winter.
I think its very hard to guess the growth. DD's petite, only about 27lb.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's really tough to know whether DD will continue on growing so fast or if she'll kind of do it more slowly as she gets older. I guess I will just go back and exchange all the clothes for 3T ones. It's just that the cutest clothes sort of stop at 24 months, and then, you have all these "rock and roll" style clothes for 3T and up. Sigh!

Does she have a lot of Carter's stuff now? If she's in 18mo now in their brand, I would do 3T with maybe a few 2T. For us, DS ran TTS in Carter's even though he was wearing a size up in other brands. He was about 95% for height, but has since slowed down and is in 24 mo at 26 mo when he was in 12-18 mo at 12 mo. It's hard to tell but I've been pretty lucky so far. We had a few things we had to hold a year but I'd rather hold a year than not wear it at all.

I think the 90s will probably fit next winter, but the 2T Carters is likely to be too small. My DD is a December baby (so almost 25 months now) and is wearing 24 mos/2T this winter (including a bit of Carters). She's also still wearing some size 80 Hannas. She is 50% for height and 25% for weight (and has been so reliably for basically her whole life.) DD wore 12 mos last winter at about your DDs age.

Thanks everyone. It's been very helpful deciding next winter's sizes.
