I never buy gymbo. But I really like the spring stuff they came out with right before Christmas and it was on sale so I bought some and earned a gymbuck. Then mom just gave me some clothes from the gymbo outlet and a gymbuck she earned there. So now I have two for the January redemption.

Is there some strategy for maximizing my value? Will there be a sale during the redemption period? I usually buy clothes online, figuring the convenience is worth the shipping cost. Will selection or prices be better in store?

Any other tips?

Thanks!

Selection of some items from new lines may be better on-line as some stores don't get everything right away. Sometimes there is free shipping for $100 or more of a purchase. I find better deals in the store as there are "finds" from returns and clearance items available. I think the prices are consistent between the store and on-line. Some people report that the stores have piles of clearance priced clothes in the back, but I have never found that to be the case. There may be sales in conjunction with the gymbucks period. You cannot use a coupon with the gymbucks. I have also heard that some stores will hold your selections from the days prior to the gymbucks redemption period so that you get what you want the first day. I have called ahead to my gymboree and asked them to pull together everything from a certain line in a certain size, and they have put it on hold for me. It's better to ask for this prior to the redemption period as they are pretty busy in the store.

Thanks! Good to know about the possibility of things being put on hold. That might be really handy. I wonder if they will put clearance things on hold? And for how long? 24 hours?

When they have free shipping over a hundred, is that a hundred before applying the gymbucks or after?

Thank you!

We did the exact same thing and have a Gymbuck LOL. I've never been a huge Gymboree fan. We did get just a few things and ended up with this Gymbuck and I thought there's no way we'd be able to redeem it because I couldn't imagine finding much more to buy there, but we're going to try to redeem it. I think the one we got is for $25 off of $50.

I usually just look at the website for a few full price things that I don't think will last long enough to go on clearance and just buy $50 worth of them for $25. Sometimes I have found things on clearance too and saved lots, but it really just depends on what is on clearance, and what DD1 needed (I haven't bought any Gymbo for DD2 yet). Sometimes it's nice if there are any extra coupons going on, but when Gymbucks are going on those usually aren't found. I got a Gymbuck from our Gymboree class so I am looking forward to buying something with it next month since I didn't even have to buy any clothes to get it:thumbsup:.

The free shipping has to be over $100 after the Gymbuck is applied, but I find that their shipping is reasonable anyway, and since their distribution center is in Dixon, CA pretty much any order I have ever done during Gymbucks or a sale is on my doorstep about 3 to 4 days (max) after I placed my order. I think that online they have a better selection of stuff vs. in the store.

A new line(s) of Gymboree stuff will be introduced the Monday or Tuesday after the end of the Gymbuck promotion period (or any other % off promo or sale) so if you find something in the newest line of stuff that you really like just use your Gymbuck to buy it because if it's not the third line down on the menu it won't go on clearance for another couple of weeks, and could possibly be out of stock. I am assuming some new lines should be previewed or up next week when the 70% off sale ends.

I try to buy stuff on clearance online that DS needs. I have gotten some really good buys on pants that way. I find the selection to be better online, and I like to be able to plan out my buys rather than make a selection in the store when I tend to be more impulsive about what I buy. My Gymbo store is really particular about returning items bought with Gymbucks. I will usually get some things that I *love* and don't think I'll be able to get a better price on later.
