s/o how long is your school's summer vacation?

There was a thread a while ago about camps over the summer and I was suprised that summer was pretty short some places.

My kids are out June 9 and will start back Sept 6, giving them 12.5 weeks of summer vacation. And, they have 183 days of school scheduled.

I think it is shrinking. We used to eek out 12 weeks exactly. This summer and next are only 11 1/2 weeks. Last day of school is a Wednesday.

We go 170 days, but have a loooonnnnnng winter break.

Last day of school is June 29. School resumes the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 6 this year. So, around 8-9 weeks, depending on the calendar in any given year.

The dates vary by year, but school always goes until the 2nd to last weekday of June (the last weekday is a pro-D day) and resumes the first Tuesday of September (day after Labor Day)

Our last day is June 3. I think this year we start again on August 1 so the kids have June and July off. We have 2 weeks off in October, 2 in December and 2 in March with some random days here and there.

Our last day will be June 10th and the kids will probably go back to school around August 12th.

Our summer is pretty short but we have 1 week off in October, 3 weeks off at Christmas and 1 week off for spring break.

I think we have about 11 weeks (+ 1 or 2 days) this summer. It seems like a lot longer, though!

our school district is thinking about restructuring the school year so would move the start date earlier (mid August) and then the kids would get out June 1st. If they do it this year, it will shorten our summer by 2 or 3 weeks. My kids are bummed!

Last year we got out the end of June (20-something) and went back the week after Labor Day (we had furlough days because of budget issues). I think summer was 10 weeks long. Our school year this year began on September 13th and will end on June 24th.

11.5 weeks here. Memorial day til mid-August is our summer break.

Ours will be 10 weeks this upcoming summer. We are losing a week because they have bumped up the start date to the week before Labor Day (previously was the day after Labor Day), starting with the 2011-12 school year.

10 weeks summer, 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week in Feb and 1 week in April. A couple of misc other days off (3 days for Thanksgiving, MLK, teacher in-service.)

No snow days around here.
