We used the Tiny Love Symphony in Motion mobile 7 years ago with my oldest son (and then later the same one with my younger son). Today DS1 was talking about how he remembered the pieces that mobile played, especially one particular piece. Now that he's learning about Mozart at school, he's wondering if that piece was the one by Mozart.

Does anyone know which pieces were used in that mobile? It said that it included specially arranged pieces by Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. But I can't find the names of the pieces they used.

TIA for any help!

The Mozart piece it plays is called 'Air' from Mozart and I cannot tell the Bach and Bethoven piece.

This Youtube shows you 'Air' from Mozart, just in case your music box plays a different piece. But ours is definitely this Youtube piece.

Thank you! This is the mobile that we had (we gave it away years ago so I can't listen to it now):

I do believe that the Mozart one on our mobile was the one you said--"Air." That sounds familiar to me. That wasn't the one that he was humming yesterday, though, so I guess his favorite piece was by Beethoven or Bach (my guess is it was Beethoven).

Thanks again for your help in answering his question.

I think the Bach piece may be

Bach Prelude

That one is on ours, though ours looks slightly different from the link you posted (we got it in 2008 though...). It sounds so much prettier on the youtube video! :)

ETA: "Air" by Mozart is also on ours.

ETA (again): Beethoven's Sonata 27, OP 90, movement 2

(I can't take the credit for figuring it out though, I found this thread about it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/anyone-know-what-songs-plays/forum/Fx3L3B1EO3YREJZ/TxSYDPT7TKK9JC/1/ref=cm_cd_ef_rt_tft_tp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B00067ELGG )

HTH!

Thanks so much for all of your help! It was the Beethoven piece that DS was remembering. It was fun for him to get to see all of the pieces performed on youtube.

It was nice for me to see them too--brought back special memories of when my boys were little. They really loved that mobile and the music box with it. After they got too big to use the mobile, we kept the music box on their crib so it was played many times.

Me too. I sat and kinda teared up while listening to the pieces on youtube. I loved the mobile and it brought back great memories for me. Kinda makes me sad that my boys are growing up and my DH is against having a 3rd child .... for a while I thought he might change his mind. Bittersweet for me... love having those memories but sad we won't have more to add... as far as baby stuff goes. I have Boys... not babies anymore. sigh

we had a different version, but also kept the music box in her crib and on her toddler bed for years.

we would hear her wake up and night, and then hear the music box turn on and know that she was putting herself back to sleep. It was magical.

One year we were on a long drive of several days in the van and my teenage son wanted to watch a movie on the DVD player, but he had to wait until she went to sleep first. He started humming the tunes from her music box! It didn't work, but it was very sweet. :)
