Target Red Card application?

I applied for my Target Card when I was at the cashier making a purchase. So, yes, instant approval is possible. They gave me a receipt print-out with a barcode that could be scanned until I received my permanent card. I don't remember if the temporary card had the actual account # on it so it could be used on-line.

I got mine in store and I think it did have the actual acct number on it so you could use it online until the actual card arrived. Otherwise you could always call the redcard customer service and I'm sure they could give you the account number info to order online.
