UPDATE in post #32
-----------------------------

A number of you were super supportive last month after I shared an early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy. While we had some conflicting advice about whether to wait a month or not, we decided to go for it (reasoning that if we hadn't been TTC, we wouldn't have even known I was pregnant - not sure if that is rational!). I just got a + on two tests, one digital. It is nice to see the big fat "pregnant" on the stick!

While excited, I am definitely *very* anxious. I am considering calling my OB in the a.m. to request bloodwork for HCG and progesterone levels, just to put my mind at ease that things are looking on track after last month. If anyone has done this, I'd love some advice for what to ask for, and whether it is a reasonable request. And most of all would love some PPT!

:yay: PP&T that you have a long, healthy, uneventful pregnancy. Not sure about what to ask at dr though.

Many sticky vibes. I have had 2 miscarriages and I think the care you want after is different for everyone. For me the hcg tests felt too stressful, but I have always had an early u/s in the 6th week that was very reassuring for me. With my 2nd miscarriage that u/s indicated a problem early and I was grateful for that (first pregnancy I did not have an early u/s and miscarried at the end of the first trimester, would have known earlier if I had had an u/s YK?). After the 2nd miscarriage I had u/s every 2 weeks during the first trimester (this pregnancy). It is very nervewracking being pregnant after a loss.

Yay! Congratulations!! This wait-and-see part is the hardest part. I hope you'll be fine. I had a similar experience and I am now NAK my pregnancy-soon-after-MC son :)

Wohooo....congratulations!

I've been in your shoes and I have also asked (ok, begged) for a blood test (quantitative HCG, I believe) that tells the actual numbers.

I think if you explain why you are so nervous, most doctors will order the blood test.

Best wishes for a very happy, healthy 9 months!

I know you've probably heard the success stories, but here's another one for you. I got pregnant with my now 2 yo DD the month after an early miscarriage. :)

Best of luck, sending lots of P&PT for a long, healthy pregnancy!

*hugs* Sending sticky vibes.

I had a "chemical pregnancy" / miscarriage (doctor's office refused to call it a mc since I hadn't been seen yet, but admitted that if I had come in 2 days earlier that's what it would have been called. :irked: ) 2 months before getting pregnant with DS.

Congrats! P & PT & sticky vibes! I am pregnant right now after a miscarriage last June, it really added a new level of worry. I don't think I will relax at all until I hit the 2nd trimester. All the worry is worth it if you have a healthy newborn to hold in the end.:love5:

Congratulations! I had a totally smooth PG after my miscarriage. (It took longer for me to get PG, but once I did everything was fine!)

Best wishes for a wondrful and easy 9/10 months!

Thanks everyone! When I finally got my OB's nurse on the phone yesterday, I hardly had to ask before she offered to send me for bloodwork. She is three or four months pregnant, and she said she had it done for no "real" medical reason, so she couldn't deny it to me! I should find out this afternoon what the results are.

Just got my beta HCG numbers back - and they are doubling nicely! I am cautiously optimistic now - and my OB's nurse said they'll see me around 5 weeks to do an ultrasound to make sure things are moving along well. Yay!

So glad to hear the good news! I've also gone through the chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage routine and know how stressful it is the next time you conceive.
