Since I read the "BJ CS buyers remorse"- thread today ...

Do you first sell a disliked stroller, wait what you get and then buy a new one? Or do you - with all the risk not to get what you'd want/need - prefer to purchase a new stroller first and - with all the time given - sell the "old" (or quite new) one afterwards? :)

Background:
Even though I am not REALLY sure what I would get (today I thought TFK twist plus Multi X Bassinet/Seat) instead, one thing that prevents me from replacing the BJCE is that I am not sure, if we would get roughly back what we paid. BJ is not very popular in Europe. Never saw one on the streets. On ebay there are only new ones... meaning: the resale value might be bad.

In those circumstances I would try to sell first. I have bought and then sold but my CL is pretty good.

I have done both. If I am worried about resale then I always TRY and sell first.

It depends how sure you are that you want to replace. Resale value is important, but it's very rarely going to save you as much money as *keeping the stroller* would have. I mean, if you were to buy something else and then decide that you actually liked the BJCE better, getting another BJCE would probably cost you more than if you had just kept it and now could sell the TFK (or whatever you buy next).

But maybe I'm not the person to ask since I've only ever sold one stroller. :)

Berlinsoul, how old is your son? And do you live in Berlin? And do I remember correctly that you have a Quest? Is there a reason why that couldn't just be your one and only? I don't think I'd want anything other than an umbrella for a child over 6 months in a European city, the extra weight would be way too much of a PITA to me. But I love my lightweights, so that could just be me. :)

Hi - So we're in the same boat with our Baby Joggers, LOL!

I guess I can throw in my $0.02 here - if/when I decide to get a different stroller, I'm going to buy it first then sell the one I have. My reasoning is the same as Multimama mentioned - I'd want to do a real comparison for myself *just in case* it turns out that I really do like my original purchase better. I'm also planning to find a retailer with a really good return policy so I can be sure I'll end up happy one way or another.

Either way, good luck finding a stroller you LOVE! :)

Thanks you all! Very helpful.
Yes, calirose we are absolutely in the same boat. We'll see how we end up ;). I have the feeling you start to really like your CS...:wink2:

MM and calirose you are both right, it would be a PITA if in the end I find myself re-buying the BJCE :ROTFLMAO:
and since I got a very good deal I would pay some more €€ then I paid in December.

ad MM: I am afraid the Quest cannot be my one and only - for sure! My DS is only 10months and still sleeps a lot in the stroller. And I just love an easy push, I love the suspension and the air tires and that I don't have to care for bumps etc. that I can easily walk through parks etc.
I live in Berlin and we have large sidewalks, uneven pavements and sometimes cobblestones - it was not much fun driving the Teutonia compared to the BJCE... People have large and small strollers here and really nobody cares. It's a spacious city ;).
I never had any problems in PT with the BJCE for example - it's large but it fits.
I admit 4 inch less in width the BJCE would be perfect and would fit everywhere, now it fits NEARLY everwhere. For me it's just too tall... since I am that small.
Having that said, most people tend to use lightwheight strollers or bike trailers after their kids turned 2.
But I am not sure if I want to do without nice push. My friends son refuses to sit in his Peg Pliko because he prefers the nice ride in the Hesba (very comfy big stroller)... ;)
and I would love to have a reversible everyday AT.... not found yet since I kind of try to avoid the Bugaboo which is such a lifestyle statement around here that I try to avoid ;)...

Having this said: we travel to cambridge and london next week and we will take the quest that I have not used longer than 30 minutes until now.
Maybe I change my mind after one week travel, city and holiday experince with the quest.
I keep u posted...:D
