So, we're getting ready to introduce DD (6 mo, 3 weeks) to the pool - first a wading pool, then the "baby pool" at the club where her grandparents go. I ordered some of the iPlay swimming diapers - do I need a disposable swim diaper under that too? Or just put the iPlay on under a bathing suit? Or just the iPlay and her floatie vest? Any other tips for getting baby ready for the water?
If you couldn't already tell, I'm confused...
Just the iPlay, no need for disposable under. But check the rules at the pool, some require disposables. I would do a rash guard on top to avoid sun exposure (plus sunblock on what is still exposed).

I agree that the swim diaper + rash guard is enough. I'm surprised to hear that some pools require disposables because the pools in our are are the reverse--they require reusable swim diapers. One of the pool managers explained that disposables can tear open and harm their equipment and they've seen more poop leaks in disposables.
Just remember to wait to put on the diaper until you're ready to get into the pool because swim dipes just hold poop, not pee.
Have fun!
