View Full Version : Ugh - why, 7th generation, why?!

I have an 18 month old daughter who is about 24 pounds. We have been using Seventh Generation diapers (stage 3) for a while now and like them. Before we used the Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive, which we liked. But after they changed to Dry Max and our daughter got a bit of a rash, we tried out different diapers and settled on 7th Generation. We've been happy with them.

But of course, now they have changed their diapers. They used to be called Chlorine Free and now they're called Free and Clear. The new Free and Clear ones have been getting poor reviews, so now I guess we have to search again. I just bought a box of the Chlorine Free, but I'm guessing they will be gone soon.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

We use the sg and earths best interchangeably. With the change in sg diapers I might switch completely to eb size 4 which we also use as our nighttime dipe. They are a little cheaper too on amazon.

I switched from 7th gen to Nature Babycare awhile back. They may cost a little more on Amazon -- not sure -- but I like them a lot better. Supposedly if you live in an area that incinerates diapers, they are fully biodegradable as well.

I like Nature Babycare too (except for overnight.)

Yeah that! We do NB during the day and Huggies Overnights at night.

We also used Natural Baby Care with DD1, and did overnites too. Not as soft as Seventh Generation but they worked just as well. I like that Amazon is finally lowering the price the last time I looked they were over $50 before the ship and save which didn't make them that great price wise. If the price stays right around $30 we'll have to try those again for DD2 when we are done with the Chlorine Free Seventh Generation.

We do NBC by day and Earths Best at night. I was thinking if trying 7th Gen chlorine free sz 4 as a transition diaper when she outgrows NB sz 3 but will steer clear of the new style. Btw, NB is not 100% biodegradable as the PP said, they are mostly biodegradable, whatever that means.

I always just dump my diapers out in the trash can though without the plastic bag in hopes that maybe they will degrade easier that way. If it matters any I found the 7th Gen. diapers to be similar in size to the NBC size 4 and 5s when DD1 used them and the NBC was easy to find in single packages. You can look at Amazon and find that they are still selling cases of the Chlorine Free diapers just not on Ship & Save so if they reintroduce the 20% off coupons that could still be a viable option as long as they have them.
