View Full Version : Contemplating selling Vista to get ?

I have a 2007 Vista that I got when DS was a baby. We didn't use the bassinet all that much since he was born in December but it was our full time stroller for a while. I love the big basket and having DS face me. Plus the fold is easy enough (easier than the Bug) and the recline is easy too.
DS is now 3.5 and DD is a month old. We haven't used the Vista in quite some time as we also have a Quest and we're just coming off the winter. The Vista lives in our garage now.
So I've been wearing DD since she was born but I know I'm going to want to use a stroller for her for longer outside walks so I can get some exercise. My only complaint about the Vista is the push and lack of air tires. I am really loving the ATs for this reason - the MB and the Bobs.
Would I be silly to sell the Vista and get one of these strollers instead? The things holding me back are the reversible feature, the big basket, and the easy recline on the Vista. WWYD?

No not all. I am waffling about selling mine but would love to keep it for all of the same reasons, the reversable seat, the huge basket (although since DD2 can now sit in the shopping cart we don't use it as much, but that stroller saved me many time prior to 8 or 9 months while shopping). I hate the wheels on our stroller too (I don't find the push horrible though, I pushed a 35lb. toddler in mine while pregnant last year a lot) as the replacement wheels I bought caused the wheel nuts to pop out and caused un even wear. I honestly can't see myself getting more than $150 for my 2007 (although it is in excellent shape seat(s) wise) though because of the uneven wheel wear. Have you had that issue?
I will most likely replace this stroller (and sell my Bob Duallie as well) with a Bob Revolution single, a Bumbleride Indie, or a Mountain Buggy Terrain or Urban single.

I have 2 sets of wheels for it - the original ones which are wider and the ones that came out after that are slimmer profile. I haven't noticed uneven wear though I will check later today.
I also pushed it while pregnant with DS back in the fall and it wasn't bad but I really wish they had air tires as an option to make the push even easier.
I know I wouldn't get much for it though. Is there not a stroller with a big basket, reversible with air tires and a nice push? I so wish some of the ATs had some of these features.

It would not be silly at all. Most ATs have full recline so you can use the seat that way for your LO. You may also want to get one that accepts a carrycot and turn your AT into a reversible for some time.

My smaller wheels got stuck and we couldn't get them off so they look like new but those really pushed the nuts out more than the original ones.

So I just took a long walk with the kiddos - I was wearing DD in my woven and pushing DS (3.5 and 30 lbs) in the stroller. Um yeah, it was hard to push! Either I'm out of shape or I need some air tires. Well I know I'm out of shape :) but some air tires will help me.
Also, I thought I would be able to wear DD and push DS this whole summer and I don't know if I can. That was a lot of work and it was not even hot out. It will suck when it's 90+ degrees out.

Get an AT double. So worth it.

yes, reversible feature with air tire is one of my #1 when I was shopping for the stroller. if you have a good Cl on your area..maybe look for Bugaboo Frog or Cam if you are looking for single stroller then add a wheeled board for DS, otherwise, get a double stroller with air tire.:)

:yeahthat: I love my Bob Duallie so much that I have even taken DD2 in walks without DD1 in it (some people look at me strange but oh well!). I really wish I would've gotten a single Bob from the beginning with DD1. If I had been able to find a Mountain Buggy Duo in my area too I most likely would've looked at one too (didn't want to order online and have to return it if I didn't like it).

I hear you and this is something I've been going back and forth with for a while but DS is 3.5 years old so I don't know how much use I will get out of it. Right now he is in school 3 days a week (9-1) and over the summer he will be in camp 3 days a week (9-2). And then next fall, he will be in preschool 5 mornings a week (9-1:30).
So given that, I don't know how often I'll be taking out both kids in the stroller. I guess if I do afternoon walks but if I just go for a short walk in just our neighborhood, I can have DS ride his scooter or bike. It's only really needed if I go for an hour long walk.

I am in exact same boat, I have a 3YO and a 3mos old but no AT double for outdoor walks. I wish there were more options for AT reversible doubles out there, the only two available right now are the Stroll air my duo ($799 and this doesn't even include the air wheels, those are extra) and the Bugaboo Donkey Duo ($1,500). I am planning on getting a mountain buggy plus one (whenever they decide to release it ;-) That way I will have an Single to double AT for the summer, and a single AT in the fall when my 3YO starts preschool.

I didn't see any Bob's on sale at Amazon except the old orange one (honestly though I still kind of prefer the old one).
Yesterday's trip to Disneyland did renew my love in the Vista even though I do need new rear tires for it. DD2 slept well in the thing and was just happy as a clam to be in it. She likes the Bob, and the Techno, but she is happiest in the Vista. Now if they just made air tires for it:praying:

That's a good deal and if the price on the chocolate/blue one isn't posted it's got to better than $299, but I gotta keep the duallie for the time being so no single for me for probably another year (and the Vista honestly is still a good single).

I know, I think since I'll mostly be using the Vista for DD, I should keep it for the time being since she doesn't weigh that much being less than 2 months old. I guess I'll just have to use it without DS to get some exercise otherwise it's intense to push (but a very good workout)!
