This is the first year DS is in school (pre-school), and I have no idea what the norm is about these things, so thought I'd ask:

We will be celebrating his birthday at school this week, and I have bought small toys for all of his classmates (spent about a $1.5 for each favor). Do folks also buy some kind of gift for the teachers? If so, how much do you generally spend on each teacher? Do you also include a greeting card (thank-you??) or a note of some sort?

Thanks!

I have not heard of a gift for the teacher for dc's birthday. Actually, our school does not have parents bring favors for kids either, but I've heard of that at daycare.

We donate a book to the classroom when we come in to celebrate a birthday/ read a story.

Thanks maydaymommy. Donating a book is a great idea!
