How much should I tip the petting zoo folks?

DD's bday party is basically a traveling petting zoo. they will be at our house for 1 hour. they charge a fee plus $1 per mile to and from their home. So, the petting zoo is $175. With mileage it's $209. DH says we should just give the guy $220, so an $11 tip. That's not enough, right?

I'd probably do $10/ each. But, $5 if they aren't that great.

It's just one guy. I've seen him at a couple of parties before and doing pony rides at another venue. He is really good with the kids. I'm torn as to whether $10 is enough on top of the $34 in round trip mileage.

If it is just his gig then he gets all the money from day, right? It's not like you are tipping party hosts at Chuck E. Cheese that just get their wage unless you give them a little more. A tip is never necessary and I think any bit is nice.
