Just curious, was there a recall on the G-Luxe or have they just become really popular recently? I've checked several online sites and almost everyone is out of stock.

they were voluntarily taken back by uppa- that's why they are out of stock everywhere though the stores might say otherwise! i heard they will be back everywhere around mid-august. hth

There is a recall for some models...wonder if that's affecting supply. http://www.uppababy.com/about-us/productupdates.php. Maybe they are low on supply because they are replacing all this frames of the affected models. They are backordered on the Uppa website as well. The one I got for half price at CSN isn't one of the recalled models though.

Did you get the one nmstrong was selling in red?

I had reported this issue back in June. I must have had one of the bad strollers

I got a replacement right away. I guess more people complained, because I just noticed the recall email while cleaning my inbox (dated July 20):

Important Product Information: G-Series

We value our customers and are committed to providing you with a stroller that meets our high quality standards.

As a valued customer, we want to inform you that we have identified and isolated an issue with an extremely small percentage of a limited production run of G-series strollers sold between March 2011 and July 2011. The G-LiTE and G-LUXE strollers affected begin with serial # DAC, DB4 or DB5. We have determined that the opening/closing mechanism in the rear of the stroller is not functioning properly, and in turn, not consistently staying open.

While there have been no reported injuries, due to our high quality standards, we would like to replace all strollers that could have potentially been affected. Please contact our customer service team at 888-770-7138 or click here to register for a replacement if you have a G-series stroller that has a serial number beginning with DAC, DB4, or DB5. Our dedicated UPPAbaby customer service team will assist you in returning and replacing your G-LiTE and/or G-LUXE stroller with a new G-LiTE and/or G-LUXE stroller that meets our high quality standards.

Please be assured that providing safe strollers and baby gear for children and families is our number one priority.

Glad I got my replacement before they were out of stock.
